Bound in gray cloth with lettering and bright color illustration to the front cover. The book shows moderate external wear, with transparent taping to the spine. (neatly done) The binding is sound. The front flyleaf has an old gift inscription in pencil and a small white sticker in the upper right corner. The pages are clean and without markings.

Bound in blind-stamped black cloth with stamped lettering to spine and pictorial design in gold to front and rear cover. All edges gilt. 112 pages. Width: 6" Height: 8.5".

Book shows external wear, with small tears at top/bottom of spine, to front/rear spine edges, and at outside corners of boards. Covers display mild rubbing. Binding is sound. Old inscription in pencil appears on front flyleaf. Pages 25 and 26 have been excised. Pages exhibit occasional light foxing. A small number of pages have small closed tears to bottom edge.

143 Rhymes. Most are one or two to a page with varied decorative borders and lovely small engravings. Some longer ballads and many unfamiliar rhymes and variants have been collected.
