The author is himself an old Arctic voyager and has thus made excellent use of all available material in describing a journey across Greenland and a successful voyage to the back of the North Pole Besides this wonderful sea yarn there are accounts of deer hunting in Norway sealing in the Arctic Seas bear stalking on the ice floes and walking on snow shoes in the north of Scotland. The story is based on the recent exploits of Fridjof Nansen.
Bound in publisher’s illustrated green cloth. All edges stained green. Bindings very tight and square. Text clean, light even toning. With occasional spotting. Moderate handling wear with small rubs at corners. A very handsome copy.
