Blue cloth covered boards, spine title paste-on faded with edge chipping; there are exterior flaws: spine rub area 1/3 from bottom, addition wear along spine edge, fading top edge near corner spine corners rubbed with loss top; edges light wear with corners lightly rubbed; Top edge stained red, other edges deckled.

Inscribed by author, in beautiful cursive from a blue fountain pen. Essays and sketches, most of which arise from the author's wartime experiences.

The author's fourth published book. Henry Major Tomlinson a British writer and journalist. He was known for anti-war and travel writing, novels and short stories, especially of life at sea.
