'The Devil upon Two Sticks', or 'Le Diable Boiteaux' is a satirical fantasy set in Madrid, on the follies and vices of mankind, written by the French comic writer A.R. Le Sage.

The story, which deals with the weakness and gullibility of men, follows Asmodeus' journey after being liberated from a bottle in which he was imprisoned by an astrologer. The character of Asmodeus became the model for numerous narratives including Dickens' Jacob Marley in which demons provide humans with a magical tour of contemporary life and vice.
