1. Ann Sothern in a tailored black-crepe cocktail dress, with a heavy red-and-white checked silk jacket, fashioned with exaggerated lapels and puffed three-quarter-length sleeves.

Ann Sothern was an American actress who worked on stage, radio, film, and television, in a career that spanned nearly six decades. Sothern began her career in the late 1920s in bit parts in films. In 1930, she made her Broadway stage debut and soon worked her way up to starring roles. Here she is introduced as a RKO Radio Star. --- Photo by John Miehle with his stamp on the rear.

2. Hollywood Fashion on Parade. Maureen O'Sullivan, Smart and chic in a dressy suit of navy-blue woolen, the skirt featured flared fullness in black, and an interesting uneven hemline. The jacket also has the same uneven design extending from collar to hemline. The woolen blouse is of cinerary yellow, the cross-bar design of navy blue.

Maureen O'Sullivan was an Irish-American actress. She was best known for playing Jane in the Tarzan series of films during the era of Johnny Weissmuller. In 2020, she was listed at number 8 on The Irish Times list of Ireland's greatest film actors. She was also the mother of actress Mia Farrow.

3. Daytime Glamour: Joan Blondell wears a smart daytime frock of black crepe with bandings of cire braid and jabot of white organdie edged with real lace in her latest First National Production, "Gold Diggers of 1937".
Rose Joan Blondell was an American actress who performed in film and television for half a century. Blondell began her career in vaudeville. After winning a beauty pageant, she embarked on a film career, establishing herself as a Pre-Code staple of Warner Bros. in wisecracking, sexy roles, appearing in more than 100 films and television productions.
