1. Ann Sothern in a tailored black-crepe cocktail dress, with a heavy red-and-white checked silk jacket, fashioned with exaggerated lapels and puffed three-quarter-length sleeves.
Ann Sothern was an American actress who worked on stage, radio, film, and television, in a career that spanned nearly six decades. Sothern began her career in the late 1920s in bit parts in films. 2. Hollywood Fashion on Parade. Maureen O'Sullivan, Smart and chic in a dressy suit of navy-blue woolen, the skirt featured flared fullness in black, and an interesting uneven hemline. The jacket also has the same uneven design extending from collar to hemline. The woolen blouse is of cinerary yellow, the cross-bar design of navy blue.

After winning a beauty pageant, she embarked on a film career, establishing herself as a Pre-Code staple of Warner Bros. in wisecracking, sexy roles, appearing in more than 100 films and television productions.
