An early scientific examination of the geysers at Yellowstone National Park. The author was the park naturalist and used hos geologic experience and the extensive catalogue of official photographs from the Haynes photographers to bring a very instructive and attractive volume.
The text is not presented in technical terms and is written for the layman simply based on the questions visitors have asked during Bauer’s career.
At the end of the volume is an alphabetical reference list of one hundred and eleven geysers with facts about each.
The map of Yellowstone locates the different geyser basins, mud volcanoes, hot spring, etc.
