Bound in publisher’s teal cloth with a color plate mounted on the front cover. The bindings are tight and square. Text clean, light even toning. Moderate shelf handling wear. Lovely ink gift inscription on the top of the first page. 7.75 by 6.25 inches with 71 unnumbered pages followed by two pages of publisher’s adverts. Illustrations by Frances Beem on every page including 31 in full-color, the text pages contain vignettes and the pages with decorative frames in black and red.

Humanized ‘nuts’ of all types make an appearance in this amusing tale with some botany lessons and introduction to East Indians and the South Seas. The narrations is written in `a-b, a-b' couplets.
