Olive-green green cloth, titling in gilt and elaborate gilt floral borders around a blue and lavender nature scene on front board, a theatrical gilt mask on the spine. Black-and-white frontispiece portrait of Jefferson, photographic plates from stage play, etc., and drawings mainly by Richard Creifelds throughout.

The bindings are tight and square. Text clean, light even toning. Moderate shelf handling wear. Reprint edition, first with this decorated cloth cover. A handsome collectible book.
