A HAND-SET LETTERPRESS EDITION OF THE FAMILIAR DEVOTIONAL MEDITATION.
A small private-press presentation of Footprints in the Sand, the widely circulated Christian meditation in which a dreamer sees two sets of footprints representing a journey with the Lord, only to discover that during life's most difficult moments the single set marks the times when the Lord carried the dreamer.

FAITH EXPRESSED THROUGH THE PRINTING CRAFT.
Issued by Chicago's Poor Richard Press in an edition of only 250 copies, the anonymous text is transformed into a carefully designed letterpress keepsake, hand-set in Frederic Goudy's Companion type and printed by Ivend H. Krohn for members and friends of the Amalgamated Printers' Association.

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS: HAND-SET AND HAND-PRINTED.
Stapled in textured red wrappers, with title and decorative rules printed on the front. Measuring approximately 3.75 by 4.5 inches. 12 pages. 
Decorative title page printed in blue, red, tan, and gold, incorporating a trail of footprints and stars. Interior text printed with decorative initials and restrained two-color ornamentation.
The colophon states: Hand set in Goudy's Companion O.S. and printed on a hand press by Ivend H. Krohn. 250 copies were printed for A.P.A. members and other friends.
The title page identifies Poor Richard Press, Chicago, and dates the publication MCMLXXX [1980].

CONDITION: NEAR FINE. No Flaws or Blemishes but minimal shelf handling; Still Gift Quality.

HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: THE AMERICAN AMATEUR PRESS TRADITION—PRINTED FOR FELLOW PRINTERS.
Ivend H. Krohn operated the Poor Richard Press in Chicago and was member No. 477 of the Amalgamated Printers' Association. The APA's own records identify Krohn with the Poor Richard Press and preserve his writing on hand-press printing. Rather than a commercial edition of Footprints in the Sand, this is a printer's keepsake: a limited production made for fellow printers and friends.
