Brown cloth covered boards with gilt spine title in black box. Bindings square and tight appear unread. No flaws to edges but for a bump to lower vol 2.front spine corner. Both dust jackets show light shelf wear and are now in protective Mylar jackets. Vol 2 has external tape reinforcement to spine tips of dust jacket. 475 & 754 pages, b/w plates and color frontis. ------ Giles Lytton Strachey (1 March 1880 - 21 January 1932) was a British writer and critic and founding member of the Bloomsbury Group and author of Eminent Victorians, he is best known for establishing a new form of biography in which psychological insight and sympathy are combined with irreverence and wit. His biography Queen Victoria (1921) was awarded the James Tait Black Memorial Prize.
