Giles Lytton Strachey ( 1880 – 1932) was a British writer and critic.
A founding member of the Bloomsbury Group and author of Eminent Victorians, he is best known for establishing a new form of biography in which psychological insight and sympathy are combined with irreverence and wit. His biography Queen Victoria (1921) was awarded the James Tait Black Memorial Prize.

Brown cloth covered boards with gilt spine title in black box. Bindings square and tight appear unread. No flaws to edges but for a bump to lower Vol 2. front spine corner. Both dust jackets show light shelf wear and are now in protective Mylar jackets. Vol 2 has external tape reinforcement to spine tips of dust jacket.
