A picture book of fairy folk with a poem for each picture very attractively made on thick coated paper with good plates It takes the fairies through the year and shows how they provide good fun for children.
Bound in salmon paper-covered boards and gray cloth spine. The front cover has a pictorial design in several colors depicting a fairy balancing a pole with lanterns at the ends.
Moderate external wear, with light soiling to the covers and very minor loss of color at the tips of the corners. Binding is firm and square. Text clean. Date on top front-free end page. The volume has illustrated endpapers; a b/w title-page vignette and bright full-page color illustrations by M. T. Ross.
M.T. Ross, who was affectionately nicknamed "Penny", was an illustrator and comic artist in the early twentieth century. He lived in Oak Park, Illinois and had his studio in downtown Chicago. He was one of the first co-workers of Walt Disney, as well as a close friend of R.F. Outcault, with whom he developed 'Buster Brown'. M.T. "Penny" Ross moved to Southern California in 1926 to work for RKO and other studios as a set designer.
