London. c1745.


The Map is entitled "Intrenchment of the Army of the Allies to cover the Siege of Douay against the French Army, that came to raise it in June 1710."


It offers a representation of a military encounter between French and Anglo-Dutch forces. The various military formations and maneuvers are depicted with great detail. The map was engraved by Isaac Basire (1704-1768), with his name appearing at the lower right.


Measuring approximately 20.5" x 16", on laid paper, Displays light toning and folds. The maps show no punctures, tearing or markings. The rear of the map blank. Fold not prominently noticeable. Handsome and presents well.
