Published in Millar's New Complete Universal System of Geography. ------- Depiction: Native men and women meet with James Cook aboard the Resolution (or Adventure), with the Union Jack fluttering above in 1773 or 1774. ------ Historical context: Cook visited Tahiti in 1773 and 1774 during his second voyage.
