Helen Levitt
'I used to go to the movies and sit there all day. It was marvelous.' — Helen Levitt
Helen Levitt (1913–2009) was the visual poet of New York City's sidewalks. Known for her uncanny ability to capture the 'unspoken' choreography of the street, her work—initially championed by James Agee and Walker Evans—remains a cornerstone of American documentary photography.
Blind Horse Books is pleased to offer a selection of Levitt material, featuring a unique Artist's Proof from the estate of her long-time publisher, Ben Raeburn.
