Background Information:
Two brothers, rookie police officer Derek Strange, and his older brother, Dennis, a troubled Vietnam veteran--become caught up in the riots that engulfed Washington, D.C., in the wake of the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr., as Derek hunts for his brother's killer, vicious local drug dealer Alvin Jones, through the streets of a troubled city.

As a commercial artist, Joe Servello is best known as an illustrator of children's books; his most prominent assignments were the covers and interior art for several juvenile novels by William Kotzwinkle.

He has also done covers for republished detective novels by Fredric Brown and books by A A Attanasio and Leigh Brackett. His covers are done in a variety of styles: for Kotzwinkle's books, his work unsurprisingly tends to be playful and colourful. [Sci Fic Ency]
