The magazine is from the estate of Jeri Kandel of Sarasota, Florida. Jeri an aspiring Sci Fi/Horror author was active in the Florida West Coast Sci Fi – Fantasy community. She was a "volunteer" for DragonCon in Atlanta and other Florida West Coast and Orlando events as an active member of ASFA where she acquired amazing autographs.

Harry Turtledove is a prolific science fiction and alternate history writer, widely recognized for his short stories that explore historical what-ifs and speculative futures. His short fiction often delves into themes of warfare, cultural clashes, and the impact of small changes on history.

Turtledove's sharp storytelling and deep historical knowledge make his short works particularly compelling, offering readers thought-provoking glimpses into worlds both familiar and wildly different. His contributions to anthologies and magazines have cemented his reputation as a master of alternate history in short form.

In the Presence of Mine Enemies first published here envisions a world where Nazi Germany won World War II and continued to dominate much of the globe into the late 20th century.

Turtledove later expanded the short story into a novel (published in 2003), which further develops the characters and setting, making it one of his more well-regarded explorations of an alternate Nazi victory.
