HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE —
First published in 1962, Little Fuzzy became one of the foundational works of anthropological science fiction. Michael Whelan (b. 1950) is among the most celebrated illustrators in science fiction and fantasy publishing. Winner of fifteen Hugo Awards, three World Fantasy Awards, and numerous Locus Awards, Whelan transformed the visual landscape of speculative fiction through his luminous, painterly approach.
