Soft cover. Issued to imitate a personal photo album, this was one of several souvenir pieces prepared for American occupation personnel in the late 1940s. No institutional holdings located through OCLC/WorldCat, and no directly comparable copies found in trade searches. [Nov-25]

Soft string-tied pictorial wrappers, 11.75 inches tall. A post-war souvenir photo album produced for troops in the U.S. Third Army occupation zone in Bavaria. The front cover features a four-color alpine vignette with the Bavarian arms; the rear cover bears the Third Army insignia framed by edelweiss and alpine flowers.

Contains fifteen mounted halftone photographs of Bavarian scenes, each captioned and tissue-guarded. Views include Munich, Starnberg Lake, the Bavarian Alps, alpine lakes, and traditional Tracht portraits. Each page carries a small Bavarian coat of arms printed in color. The inside rear wrapper presents a full-color map of Bavaria.

Condition: The spine shows opening from handling wear but remains fully secure due to the original string tie. Light age-toning; plates clean; overall very good for this fragile format.
