Rather than a random accumulation, the archive retains its narrative integrity, moving regionally through major cultural and religious centers including Kyoto, Nara, Horyu-ji, Mount Koya, and Ise. The sequence reflects a deliberate travel progression, offering a rare, continuous visual record of temple architecture, sacred landscapes, and urban life as encountered by foreign visitors in the interwar years.
