Judgment of the Nephilim
Ryan Pitterson, 2017.
GIANTS, FALLEN ANGELS, AND THE WAR OF TWO BLOODLINES.
A biblical study of the Nephilim of Genesis 6, presenting Ryan Pitterson's interpretation of the 'sons of God,' their offspring with human women, and the role these beings played within a larger conflict extending from Eden through the Flood and subsequent biblical history.
TRACING THE NEPHILIM THROUGH SCRIPTURE.
Pitterson develops his argument by connecting passages throughout the Bible that he believes form a continuing narrative involving two competing bloodlines: the lineage leading to the Messiah and the 'seed of Satan.' Questions considered include the nature of the fallen angels, the appearance of giants after the Flood, and the relationship Pitterson sees between the Nephilim narrative and later biblical events. The work is presented as a scripturally based defense of this interpretation rather than as an archaeological or historical investigation.

SUBJECT SIGNIFICANCE: THE NEPHILIM IN CONTEMPORARY BIBLICAL INTERPRETATION.
GENESIS 6 AS A KEY TO BIBLICAL HISTORY.
The Nephilim of Genesis 6:4 have generated centuries of competing interpretations concerning the identity of the 'sons of God' and the nature of their offspring. Pitterson belongs to the contemporary interpretive tradition that understands the passage literally as describing supernatural beings producing hybrid offspring with human women.
THE GIANTS OF GENESIS.
Rather than treating Genesis 6 as an isolated episode, Pitterson uses the Nephilim as an organizing theme extending across biblical history. This gives the volume its particular appeal within modern evangelical writing concerned with biblical giants, fallen angels, supernatural interpretations of Scripture, and the relationship between Genesis and later biblical narratives.
