A group of twelve identical complete sheets of the ½-cent Queen Elizabeth II definitive depicting the lighthouse on Sombrero Island. Each sheet contains 50 stamps and retains its full margins and plate markings.

Offered as an inexpensive intact holding for the British Commonwealth, Caribbean, lighthouse, or Queen Elizabeth II collector.

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS: COMPLETE SHEETS WITH PLATE MARKINGS. 
+++ Twelve complete sheets, each containing 50 perforated stamps arranged 10 across by 5 down, for a total of 600 stamps.
+++ Multicolor design with portrait of Queen Elizabeth II above a view of the Sombrero Lighthouse, denominated ½ cent and inscribed St. Christopher Nevis Anguilla.
+++Full margins retained. Lower margin with 1A / 1A plate markings.

CONDITION: FINE. Unused complete sheets with original gum. Clean and well preserved overall, with minor handling consistent with storage of large sheets. Perforations  intact. No flaws found.

PHILATELIC SIGNIFICANCE: SOMBRERO LIGHTHOUSE & THE BRITISH WEST INDIES. 
The stamp sheet features the Sombrero Lighthouse, located on the remote, uninhabited Sombrero Island. This desolate, 90-acre limestone outcrop lies roughly 34 to 40 miles northwest of Anguilla.

The issue combines the familiar Elizabeth II portrait with the lighthouse on Sombrero, the small island northwest of Anguilla. It belongs to the period when the islands were represented philatelically under the collective St. Christopher, Nevis and Anguilla administration.
