Star Probe [SIGNED]

New York: Ace Books, 1978. First ACE Printing. Star Probe features classic cover art by Boris Vallejo. A quintessential late-1970s vision of cosmic adventure, it blends Cold-War-era space ambition with environmentalist tension—a compelling artifact from the Ace revival years.

Joseph Green (b. 1931) – Star Probe. New York: Ace Books, 1978. First Ace paperback edition, first printing (December 1978). Pictorial wrappers with cover art by Boris Vallejo,  205 pages. Signed and inscribed on the title page: ‘For Jeri and thanks / Joe Green’. A post-NASA speculative novel exploring mankind’s first contact amid ecological activism and corporate power.

Condition: Good. Moderate cover creasing and edge wear with some curling at corners; front hinge secure, slight lean to spine. Tape reinforcement inside covers at upper and lower corners. Pages uniformly toned but clean and unmarked.

Signed inscription remains strong in blue ink. A solid reading copy with collectible association value.

Joseph Green, a Florida-based science fiction author and aerospace engineer, published several novels exploring ethical and technological conflicts of space exploration (Gold the Man, The Loafers of Refuge, Conscience Interplanetary).

Cover artist Boris Vallejo’s 1970s Ace designs remain among the most recognizable in the genre’s visual canon.
